Greater Washington Christian Education Association, Inc. (GWCEA) is hosting the National Capital Christian Education Conference on January 27 & 28, 2012, at the University of MD University College Marriot Conference Center. We are excited that this is our second year offering the conference at this new state-of-the-art location. GWCEA began in 1954 in Silver Spring, Maryland, as a non-denominational, Christ-centered training resource for Sunday school teachers. The annual event with an average attendance of 1,500 has grown into the premier Christian education conference in the eastern region. The early mandate was to "revitalize Sunday schools, to promote and encourage the study of the Bible, to foster Christian education conventions and rallies, and to encourage all phases of Christian education in the local church." Building on this foundation, the current conference provides nearly 125 workshops covering an ever-growing variety of innovative and creative classes and over 40 local and national Christian resource vendors. Through the conference thousands of people have the opportunity to gain valuable information to help transform communities and churches for the Lord Jesus Christ!
